who had a very bad we got a very busy week so far they can share a little bit about it but I know you have cast test thing we've got a pee test thing a lot of things going on South pass it to our amazing principles and residence mr. call Stone for Valera and Mr Jive born marine and either them to go press just to share some updates with things that are going on on each of their sides of the comp I'll go ahead and get us started alliance with Laura had a visit from an organization called come to the camp today and they are an organization that works with schools to try to improve how students feel they belong at site through some different activities including likes to create presentations and share them with your advisory team and they also work on how they can the name and identify their emotions and respond positively to other students when they share those emotions so they were doing a visit to kind of observing classrooms and see that happening. dry Paws for translational service no we don't need translation today today was the 8th grade started their math assuming out their math their science State Testing so science State Testing started today in Miss Molina and miss my latest his classroom and it was also the first day when we started doing things differently because of security in relationship to phone and so we've been using the yondr pouch has but we we amp up the security during testing & student earn in their phones in their yogurt pouches during the testing time that was times that started today weak the math and English testing start in grades 6 7 and 8 so we are really excited for the students to show what they know I'm going to work hard to make sure everybody knows this and I'm happy to share the the document that I I've been putting together but I'm all the parents should know all of the middle schools we've looked at in the area are not performing as well as Alliance Balera Alliance MIT Bill Blair Middle Academy which ones and how they're performing on state tests most of the schools are performing between 20 and 30% proficient in ela we we scored at 48% so almost 20 higher than that and in math we scored at 30% and most of the nearby schools are between 8 and 20% so there's been a lot of growth in a lot of good performance by our students last year and we think that we will improve on that this year so we're really excited to see the results of those and I think that's most of what's going on at Bellaire Middle Academy if you have any questions feel free to ask add form high school we are in the middle of our AP testing testing her like a horse's is always the first two weeks of May so this week we've had our government AP Manchester AP Chemistry and repe weather forecast today and then we have a couple more to round out this week and next week will wrap up or he'd be texting some of the other things we've completed our elf at casting colors in messenger growth as well as we wrapped up her science test for the state up coming after this after the AP testing will have her our English to Max be testing the cast will be two days of English two days and bath for our 11th graders only has a big test we're rounding out the week and we're trying to coordinate for dating a field trip to UC Santa Barbara is like the recognition and celebration of all the kids hard work play your  is coming to close right after that because we'll have her i-Ready testing finals and graduation which were really excited about and those are the updates from Ray High School a thank-you principal of any questions from our ssac members are either of our principals about what's going on on both sides of the complex night and if not just a couple of things for my end I'm not sure if it's a shared but it is teacher appreciation week while nationally I think the celebration is next week science and La we celebrate it this week and so we've been trying to take care of my teachers as much as possible are instructional aides RBIs I getting him food every day that we did an omelette station today we've call Dobson field level Dodgers tickets for last night's game and really just trying to show our hard-working seem like they really do are teaching team really does their best their personal Bastyr really service and support our sky prison cell I just want to make sure I said that appreciation to our teaching team including amazing teachers like Miss O'Connor who's on here who is doing us if they see on top of all of the other responsibilities she has is up as a team member as a parent and so many different roles. Thank you very much to our teaching team and excited about closing out this year we just got one of my students made the decision between Harvard and Stanford going to Stanford those are two amazing up options right and she's she's going to go to Stanford one of our student Representatives here is going to be going there taking her talents to use the SD so really proud of our student represent I'm on this committee and this so proud of where our students to get into college the amount of scholarships that they're earning just really excited and I just attribute that to the amazing team at our play a Led by our principles and and supported by leaders on the operations staff and and counseling teaching etcetera but those are some updates we're now going to go ahead and go in to you I've been giving us this morning this meeting is going to be a little longer than last meeting David actually won't be too long I'll share this with a couple people it's not going to be as long as I thought it was going to be a but there is some information that we have to review as a prep for our boy meaning the alliance board meeting June 7th so I got to go to share my screen does everyone see a Google slide presentation okay great thank you it's coming up right now it's a little slow on my on my computer here all right so this is our 23:24 supply for next year already ssac budget discussion the first life will be review so reminder these are always ready commitments we are always respectful engaged accountable determined and your personal best today's agenda is just a refresher on our budget basics reviewing our budget in El Cap overview reviewing I want I'm fine and I'm planning for what's next and I'll have the Spanish slides up as well so while we won't do the translation unless needed I'll put these up just on the road boarding our Spanish-speaking families can access the slides start introduction so again the one thing that one of the things that I had about Alliance is that as an independent charter school if you look on the right side of the stream we get the the public funds directly funneled to us and then we leave pay for different over add paper support from the home office etcetera is a traditional District on the left side public money goes to the district first then it's dispersed of the schools we have the exact opposite we have more direct access in control of our budget what do you think about are the majority of our funds 60% Coastal Personnel the majority of it being our certificate in class my salaries there's 30% that go to operation so like our nutrition program Operational Support excetera and then 10% is an up an authorized earthies but most of it goes into Talent our personnel when we think about you all as educational Partners like what we used to call stakeholders as educational Partners usasac combined with a board our parents teacher Scholars and elpc all of you really do give us feedback about how to spend our money in our budget so the role of the SSA again you are members of that since they see your elected and then you provide all of us including myself and our board the guidance to self promote or to give our feedback or solution on how to run our school and that's your role the delegation of authority the SSA see you all back to me and then I'll be able to give feedback and recommendations to our governing board who takes action in a public forum and represents all of our stakeholders and that's all we delegate Authority and our Network so the ssac our job is to review data at least two times a year which we did in our fall in the fall and spring identify needs make recommend 10:00 and then provide input to me and then school principals here that's why they're in these meetings that the support us as barmy as exactly directions what the complex will manage the budget we've designed a budget with all of your feedback based on needs and then different options for Solutions and then we make final recommendations to the board so the employer feedback is really essential and you'll see some of the ideas that we we put into place based on your recommendations self binding decision some things to know if there's no set unrestricted mines it as as they seek and spend the main purpose of you all as to provide critical input Based on data and then for the principles of myself to behave give us ideas on how we allocate our resources said throughout the spring we we worked on a draft budget El Cap summary we've been taking feedback and then today in May you'll give your stamp of approval for the final drafts and then vote to send them to the governing board for approval on which the board will approve ideally in June so the budget of Gap overview so in March we provided preliminary drafts now we're going to be seeking approval from the SSA see on the 2020 324l cap and Associated budget so when we give the motion to if everything looks good everyone you'll be moving to approve the cap and Associated budget for 2324 so that's what will be voting on at the end of this as long as everything looks good to everyone and so a lot of that information will be during the upcoming slides and so the El Cap breaks it down to serve all students as well as our different subgroups and just leaving these donkeys has a lot of information so in the recording our Spanish-speaking families. access ISO Alliance m i c we use title one and then part A and I'll cap the school-wide program model allows all of our students based on the needs assessment that we've addressed I including the California dashboard our own internal data Etc and then I might be utilizing these resources for various intervention support and based on different needs that our site and that all schools are required to create a school plan for seeing the treatment spsa or what we've discussed over the last couple meetings as well are wasp and so on In-N-Out cap really service the SPs a press I said that El Cap Financial summary call one is really designed around personnel and resources having high-quality teachers administrators in classroom assistants well-maintained facilities and I'll share more about that in a bit it's about 12 million dollars if you look on the right side of the screen is allocated to go one basic services go to is around having a robust instructional program with a broad course of and so while there's some overlapping expenditures so like staff and teachers the cetera connectable to there's an additional 300 7006 did that also build on the program that includes a curriculum digital tools technology tools Etc Guthrie is around having our families as partners so really working with our families to be meaningfully bald and engaged at the school whether a workshop having access to Penn engagement stop at cetera there's roughly $115,000 allocated for that culture and climate is that our goal is to have all started and stopped be supported in a positive School culture with a positive School culture and environment and their students to engage meaningfully and so we spend 740-3860 144000 roughly on positive behavior intervention supports incentives ready store field trips Sports in restroom programming Etc and then call it success for money at college-going culture with a focus on supporting each Scholars journey to and through college a lot of that spending so additional spending is 84000 roughly for like College field trips cesta a piece of what is a part of our funding helps subsidize the payments that our students would have to make if they were to pay the full cost of a piece of thing so those are all different things the way you do to be able to support I said college-going aspirations this is our final our budget financials so total revenue that we had for 20 22 23 with 18997 so I'm 19 million dollars where is this budget which is currently based on a lower enrollment that we have this year I know that for mr. chime it's across town in our team here we don't anticipate having a smaller budget but this was designed as a contingency in case we did not hit our desire enrollment targets but roughly about 18.2 million dollars for the upcoming year some things that we've talked about right we in 22 23 and this will look very similar for next year 23:24 we want to make sure that we have strong academic achievement improving cast especially in math continuing to push for a p passage and then continuing to push for college acceptances so this year we're really proud of the number of students that are getting into top-tier use these cows babes at cetera I want to continue that continue to make that happen beliefs and behaviors support for social emotional needs of our students and families decreasing our suspension rates and unfortunately it wasn't written here but also. increasing our expulsion rates are we had we had a couple of explosions this year there is more than we've ever had unfortunately for reasons that Were Expendable but those are things that we want to clean up it improve and I still working with our students and Families and that a culture of collaboration really working to make sure that we have vertical articulation and support throughout a student 6 through 12 Journey one of the benefits about going to an alliance MI like going to a 6 or 12 is that a family doesn't have to look for a high school after they enrollment upper middle school and I want us to have a really strong program stick through 12 star families stay with us and we reap the benefits like our seniors this year this has the highest percentage of students that started in middle school it's only the second class accommodated Middle School to go to high school it has the highest percentage and also the high percentage of college going college-going success scholarship and top-tier University acceptance somebody decisions based on all of your feedback that we've gotten over the year we're going to continue to increase our stopping for a peace team coursework gldn electives we're going to continue to increase counseling and psychologists Staffing we just had an interview for a psychologist today continuing to add I'm stopping there a continuing to increase our enrichment opportunities PBIS and extracurriculars so getting our students involved in internship building or Sports programs including lacrosse own income I'm working on building up a larger Middle School sports program having increased instructional AIDS in behavior interventionist and then something that came as a result over the last two meetings including what we address last time with this fake threat continuing to improve our facilities safety improvements we're going to be increasing we've already did some work around lighting adding cameras putting larger all our fencing adding supervision staff and then we added the shades outside on the courts so really trying to upgrade our facilities to make sure it's safe and secure a so that really came from the last couple meetings and then just continue not just our budget based on the Roman needs understanding that a lot of our students are coming in 7th grade so adjusting accordingly I'm in it also just rethinking the way that we do our our enrollment at our class sizes regarding one-time funds over the last few years we've gotten some additional funding that will support us through 23 24 including expanded learning opportunities program educator Effectiveness find a through G completion plans and the learning recovery block grant so we continue to use those those funds to support student free from the pandemic supporting addressing social emotional trauma and then continuing to support our students and our staff through stop development and Scholar safety so we're continuing to work with the best research and school Community School communities get feedback we built on our discussions for March around 1 time resources continue to provide interventions like tutoring like we have now with their tutors and unfortunately the really trying to provide as much intervention support as possible and then sr3 this started in the fall of 2021 approved the plan back in September 2021 so just really leveraging our our funding to be able to support our sky what is returning for the bed down egg and we have a spending deadline we have to spend all of this money by September 30th 2024 and so that one time you said some funding that we spent on is like our staffing some technology Professional Resources that totaled about 345916 for the upcoming year so what's next again we're going to be in with your approval is on and everything looked okay I'll share the actual El Cap draft after I share the slideshow so before we approve it I just want to show more of the details but those are next to us and then we'll put this to a vote with our school board but I'll go and stop sharing now and I'm going some more of the details. just so you can get a feel for it and then I'll go put it up to him about so these are all cab dropped as I shared the budget is about 18 million 18.2 million dollars as I said before which includes 13313 million 3,000 in the El Cap and then additional expenditures and and expenses our finances totaling about 4.8 million dollars and then here is the documentation that we have this is the the overview that we had talked about before projected Revenue by funding sources this way El Cap plan we talked about wanting to focus on these five goals basic Services the instructional program families as partners scholar culture School culture and then college success and so this all roughly summarizing things that we talked about throughout the year we're going to be monitoring and and making sure that with these actions that we that we take having strong professional development strong facilities counseling Etc Dallas pergola one and then go to is around making sure that we have our math and Ela instructional strategies providing a through G course access in Richmond and accelerated program goal 3 around families Partners May should we have our parent engagement team and are engaging our parents in different workshops activities monitoring attendance and academics golf bars around culture and climate so maybe you should we have uniforms for families social emotional and academic supports and then a ton of culture building activities and resources go by Brown College Success so College towards in field trips like mr. I said example would be taking our students to UC Santa Barbara After cast testing and then having College support staff like our counselors and so these are at this like the breakdown and then here is a more detailed view of all the different expenditures that are outlined in our El Cap so while I'm scrolling through this or I'm going to throw a little more slowly what questions do we have before we vote to before we vote on a motion to approve the El Cap and Associated 2324 budget but I'm slowly scroll and then these are a lot of this is like directions on the different fronts but I'm just go to just understand what we're being asked to discuss so those are these again or just directions on how he completed this document any questions otherwise I'll have Miss dimora put it up to a motion and a and a second again you the motion would be 2 approve the proposed El Cap and 23/24 budget do if you have any questions or a point of clarification or anything like that please feel welcome comfortable you know asking questions if no question missing Maura or I can just call for a motion to approve the 2324 El Cap and Associated budget can I get a motion to okay I would like to make the first motion to approve the budget perfect second I'll do the second one look up budget and just so you know McClurkin is putting comments into the chat regarding approval all right to all in favor say aye that motion was approved thank you very much McDonald's a lot of information if there's any other questions feel free to reach out to me I know it's a lot and you know it 18.2 million dollars were hoping to have a lot more next year but those are some things we have to continue to work on within Roman but yeah that's the budget as it stands and I believe the next part is public comment just give me the  ball this is the time for public comment see if you have any comment can be related related to the agenda this is the time for that just you can raise your hand or put that coming on the chat I just wanted to say thank you to mr.
