my name is Jonathan tiongco I'm the proud founding principal and executive director here at Alliance MIT him we are now in our seventh year of operation so Alliance and mighty is a 6 through 12 blacks serving both Middle School and High School in the same location so families don't have to look for another school post Middle School this can be their home from grade 6 all the way through grade 12 I've been here since middle school since it's great Alliance focusing a lot on like Steam and stem so like science technology engineering and math and things like that they really bring it out like the science part of me and the tech part of me and trade when the campus was more small and it was interesting translating to this new bigger campus right now it's a lot more modern it's well-kept and we have a lot of more new technology and so the mechanism kind of like distributor play as a human would when it walks and so it's really about figuring out how to program that correctly and to get like all the angles of the servos correct and so it's a really challenging process but we're having a lot of success so far I am really excited to see the final product in large part because we all the way from sixth grade all the way to 12th grade and what allows us to do with a gives us enough time to accelerate there so that when they finish 11th grade they are ready to apply for college applications and that is our goal here at Alliance MIT in velero to make sure that students are ready and able to be successful in college we actually have a meeting with our counselors that does through college requirements like a through G requirements and are transcripts and college applications so it's really helpful for me to know now instead of going to chiril clueless not knowing what to do you need help like teachers and people would have and sixth grade the principal came to my school at Fenton and there's a whole presentation of the school and I liked it so I joined I made a lot of friends it's what is it to get friends here I'd say it's pretty good area being independent Learners and thinkers and getting them prepped to be more independent is like us being successful that they don't need so many people behind them to hold their hand I want to set backs the truth Foster in their creativity and they realize there was a working on learning on how to like use knowledge to create something that we have a really large Latino pop station do we also have students from all over on the valley that commute to us from Tujunga Pacoima Sun Valley I'm in other nearby neighborhoods be around different types of students with different cultures and learn from them we really saved student as an individual they're not just a number at our campus eats at student has an advocate who is there who knows their needs who knows their strength than is really advocating and supporting them as an individual goal as a department is to provide access to general education curriculum categorize the students in a one-size-fits-all success for students that they feel safe that they feel pain and that they're getting a support to do their personal bags so once it is connected accounts we check in with them and build that Rapport so that the sooner really is seen by the counselor and it was student is asking for support about something going on at home and they needed to come potential or if they're asking just about their dreams of wanting to be the first your family to go to college things of that sort we definitely take the time to have those conversations and advisory or in small group or one-on-one in the one is Center in the college Center largest Charter management organization Los Angeles with 26 schools serving over 13,000 students come join the alliance family the alliance network will be ready always ready always right always ready always ready always ready always ready
